Set within the context of “The Rock Island Grand Prix”, the world’s largest and most prestigious Karting street race, the show explores the world of Karting from a human interest perspective in which racing is “the icing on the cake”.
As such, the show embraces the culture of Karting and tells the story of the sport from a variety of angles. From a unique reliance on the participation of family to the girls racing against the guys with a sense of self esteem and real world destiny, the story is told with a creative flair for the original.
Combining multiple formats, the production is a magazine show wrapped around a ”behind the scenes” documentary in which the featured segment is Superkarts USA’s, “The King of the Streets”, a 30 lap street race featuring 125cc shifter karts flying into a 90 degree turn doing upwards of 100 mph pulling 4g’s, one inch off the ground, driven by a 16 year old girl competing head to head with male competitors from throughout the world.
